The Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
The Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics has always promoted the development of research programmes with international collaboration in various areas.
The Division’s activities cover a broad range of subjects involving research into the aetiology of numerous forms of cancer and methodological research into the development of innovative methods of study design and analysis.
However, each study that is undertaken focuses on cancer patients and on patients who are at a high risk of developing cancer.
Most of the research activities are conducted in cooperation with scientists – both intramural and extramural – who are experts in various disciplines.
The research and service activities of the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics are organised into Units and Programmes that involve personnel from the Institute as well as scientists from around the world.
The Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is composed of three Units:
- the Epidemiology Unit
- the Data Quality Control Unit
- the Biostatistics Unit
