Successful projects

On November 29, 2013, the European Commission released the ERC Consolidator Grants 2013 results.

The following IEO projects were selected for funding:
1) Immune mechanisms that control the homeostasis of the gut and that are deregulated in intestinal pathologies cancer (HomeoGUT) – Principal Investigator: Dr. Maria Rescigno.
2) Modeling disease through cell reprogramming: a translational approach to the pathogenesis of syndromes caused by symmetrical gene dosage imbalances (DISEASEAVATARS) - Principal Investigator: Dr. Giuseppe Testa.

Mission&Vision

The Grants Office provides administrative support for IEO research activities (both clinical and foundamental) and acts as a liaison between its researchers and sponsoring agencies.
It is a central source of information on major national and international agencies, foundations, and institutions that support research and scholarship, and assists researchers in identifying appropriate research funding opportunities.
It provides assistance to researchers in the preparation of applications, developing proposal narratives and budgets, completing the application forms and interpreting the regulations of the granting agencies, assuring compliance with the sponsors policies and requirements.
It is committed to supporting IEO Investigators by assuring timely submission of complete and accurate proposals that have the best chance possible of success in the sponsor review process.

It negotiates terms and conditions of awards of successful proposals and provides support for the administration of research grants, including funding allocation, monitoring research expenditures and producing financial statements.
It manages research contracts, preparing, whenever necessary, subcontracts or consortium agreements with collaborating institutions, and acts as administrative contact point on multicentric research projects.
It ensure that grants and contracts are consistent with IEO standards for academic research and ethics policies.
It collaborates with the IEO Budget Control Unit for year-end accounts and financial forecasting of research income data.
