  • CLINICAL ACTIVITIES

    Dr Galimberti  leads the Division of Breast Care and has a leading role in all surgical, clinical, management, research and training daily activities in the IEO Breast Care Project,

     

    Born in Milan, graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1984, Dr Galimberti specialized in Surgery at the School of Specialization in General Surgery of the same University in 1989 and then completed Master in Breast Care (University of Milan, 2007), Master in Plastic Surgery and Master in Training Management for Health Managers of Complex Structure (Catholic University, Milan, 2008). In December 2013, she received the scientific enabling as University Professor of I and II band.

    Coordinator of the interdisciplinary collaboration with the Biomolecular Department of the European Institute of Oncology in the Division of Breast Care.

    Member of the "Task Force on Breast Cancer" at the European Institute of Oncology.

     

    Since 2006 Member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).

    Since 2009 Member of the Scientific Committee of the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG).

    Since 2010 Member of the Scientific Committee of Europa Donna.

    From 2013 Scientific Member of the Oncology Team of the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO).

    From 2014 Member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Association of Breast Surgeons (ANISC).

    Dr Viviana Galimberti has developed her clinical, surgical and research experience of excellence in oncology: from 1985 she was a Fellow, Freelance consultant, and then Assistant to the National Cancer Institute of Milan; from 1994, she was Assistant of the Breast Care Division at IEO where she became the Deputy Director (1998) and later the Co-Director (2001), leading the Molecular Breast Unit.
