Centro Cardiologico Monzino

Centro Cardiologico Monzino was founded in 1981 thanks to a donation by Italo Monzino, Order of Merit for Labour, and the inspiration of Professor Cesare Bartorelli of the University of Milan, whose idea was to create a centre exclusively devoted to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Centro Cardiologico Monzino's values are:
- respect and care for the patient as a person
- individualized, patient-focused health care and treatment decisions
- therapeutic and diagnostic research and innovation
- high level of specialisation
- at the Institute every citizen has equal rights to treatment, without any discrimination based on race, sex, nationality, income and religion.
- commitment, personal accountability for results, willingness to cooperate, mutual respect and a sense of belonging to an organisation working for the health of citizens
All these values encourage the achievement of results and excellence.
The Institute, accredited with the National Health Service, has a Specialised Emergency Unit for cardiovascular emergencies and, as part of Lombardy’s 118 emergency system, guarantees 24/7 services, including the treatment of acute myocardial infarction by primary angioplasty, aortic acute syndrome, cardiac and vascular surgical emergencies
