  • Make sure that you bring with you all the medical records at your disposal in English.
  • Verify your visa requirements as they vary from Country to Country. All foreigners intending to enter Italy must provide the documentation required to justify the reasons and duration of their stay as well as, in some prescribed cases, the availability of adequate economic means and lodgings.

Airline reservation 

There are three International Airports in Milan.

We suggest you book your airline reservations with open arrival and departure dates. This will also you allow you greater flexibility in your travel arrangements in case your procedure is delayed, you require extended treatment or the actual length of stay cannot be determined accurately before you are admitted.

Hotel accommodation services 

We are glad to inform you that IEO has signed an agreement with Atahotels Group. Special rates for Quark Hotel (rooms) and Quark 2 (residence - for longer periods) are now available to our patients. Both facilities are rated 4 stars, near IEO premises and offer a shuttle service to and from the Institute. You will find the shuttle schedule here attached

Living expenses are not included in the estimated medical expenses.

 

 

  • Arrange your transfer from the Airport to the European Institute of Oncology.

 

We have a transfer service from Milan Airports to the IEO:

 

  • From/to Milan Malpensa: € 100,00 + 10% VAT
  • From/To Bergamo Orio al Serio: € 120,00 + 10% VAT
  • From Milan Linate to IEO: € 65,00 + 10% VAT
  • From IEO to Milan Linate: € 45,00 + 10% VAT

During public holidays or during the night an additional fee of (25% on the total amount)is applied. 

For delay a fee of 25,00€ per hour is applied.  

 

How to reach us

... IEO

BY CAR

  • From downtown Milan, go south from Corso di Porta Romana to corso di Porta Vigentina and on to Via Ripamonti up to no. 435.
  • From the motorways, take Tangenziale Ovest up to the Val Tidone-Milano Vigentina exit and stay on this route in the direction of Milan Centro; take via Ripamonti up to no. 435.

 

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT


  • From downtown Milan, take tram no. 24 in Piazza Duomo – via Dogana (direction Vigentino) to the headstop, then take bus no. 99 (direction Noverasco) or bus no. 222 (direction Pieve Emanuele) and get off at the following stop (Ripamonti – Macconago). From tram 24 headstop you can also take the IEO shuttle.
  • From the Central Station, take Underground line 2 (green line) to Abbiategrasso station, then take the IEO shuttle. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, take Underground line 3 (yellow line) to Duomo or Missori Stations, them tran no.24 (direction Vigentino) to the headstop, and then bus no.99 or no.222 (direction Opera) and get off at the next stop.
  • From Malpensa Airport, take the shuttle to the Central Station, then follow the directions above.
  • From Linate airport, take bus no. 73 to the centre  (Piazza Duomo - Via Mazzini) and follow the directions above.

 BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT


  • From the Central Station, take Underground line 3 (yellow line) up to the Missori station, then take tram no. 15 at the “Albricci – Da Cannobio” stop and get off at the “Italia – Lusardi” stop.
  • From downtown Milan (Piazza Duomo) take tram no.15 at the “Albricci – Da Cannobio” stop and get off at the “Italia – Lusardi” stop.
  •  From IEO, take line 99 at the “RipamontiMacconago” stop and get off at the “RipamontiQuaranta” stop, take tram no. 24 to the “Romana-Missori”stop and then tram no. 15 from “Italia-Missori” to “Italia-Lusardi”.


 

Your Admission

Before accessing your appointment, you should always carry out the administrative admission at the acceptance point (about an hour in advance).

 

    Go to a distributor and select the service for which you come and pick up your ticket

  • Sit in one of the waiting areas and wait for your number to appear on the screen indicating the desk.
  • Go to the desk equipped with all your personal documents.

 

Hospitalization

 

Once the hospitalization is planned, the Case Manager of the assigned department will phone you to communicate the day of you access to the Institute.

 

Patients who are paying for their own care, will have to go to the Payment and Insurance Office (Hall A of Building 1), Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 19:00.

 

    What to bring

  • A valid Identity Card/Passport with photo.
  • A copy of the medical records in case of previous admissions in other hospitals.

 

Discharge 

 

At discharge, you have to go to the admission point from 8:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday to remit the remaining balance, request a copy of your medical reports and/or a copy of the diagnostic tests made. 

The European Institute of Oncology suggests any appropriate post-surgery treatments and/or follow up taking into account the effective possibilities of the patient to be assisted in his/her homeland.

 

The International Patient Office helps the patients finding the best treatment centers in her/his homeland area and remains at complete disposal for any further information the patient should need after discharge.

 

 

Milan is internationally renowed for art, fashion, design, finance and industry. 
In Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Via Manzoni, Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga you may also visit the shops of the most famous fashion designers.In the evening you may choose from hundreds of dining options, including the very best Italian food and other world cusines, see an opera or visit the nightspots in the Navigli or Corso Como areas.
